Youth voice is embedded throughout Youth Futures. From the work that we do to the decisions that we make, we follow the principle of “nothing about us, without us”.
Since the organisation was founded in 2019, we made a commitment that young people will always have a seat at the table. We know that making space for the voices and contributions of young people with lived experience of facing barriers to employment makes what we do and how we do it even better..
Following a successful first year of running our Future Voices programme, in partnership with British Youth Council, we are delighted to welcome our second group of 20 young people. Based across the country, they will ensure youth voice remains at the heart of our organisation, sharpening our vision and strategy for 2023 and beyond.
“We are so excited to announce our brand-new Future Voices Group cohort. Youth voice is an integral part of our organisation, and it’s so important to us that we’re working directly with young people from across the country to help shape what we do. We’re so excited to see what is in store for the 20 new young people who will be joining us, and look forward to staying in touch with our outgoing cohort. Each new member will bring new interests, passions and most of all, experiences, to Youth Futures, and I speak on behalf of everyone when I say we can’t wait to get stuck into working with them and seeing where their commitment and drive takes us.” Anna Darnell, Head of Strategy and Partnerships, Youth Futures Foundation
“I really enjoy my time as an Ambassador and I love how supportive and welcoming the whole team are. The sessions are always thought-provoking yet I never feel overwhelmed because of the amazing staff.
In the future, I hope that I will be able to speak on more topics like the accent article and get involved with everything that I am able to in the future! I’m so excited, especially because you all are such a fantastic team.” Zoya, Future Voices Group Ambassador
