Building Futures Advisory Group
Young people shaping research, large-scale evaluation and commissioning.
A group of ten young people aged 15 to 18 have informed and shaped test-and-learn waves of our Building Futures programme, and worked with Youth Futures staff to appoint new delivery partners for its second phase.
Our early intervention programme delivering and evaluating mentoring support for secondary school students at risk of missing out on further education, training or future employment.
The group worked with the programme’s researchers and evaluators to inform decision-making across commissioning and evaluation.
For the first time, we have piloted youth inclusion in the design of an evaluation and we are hoping to build on this experience to inform future youth inclusion in evaluation.
Involving young people in evidence-creation deepens our understanding, gives us better insight, and helps us create more inclusive intervention experiences for system users.
