This National Apprenticeship Week, we are proud to launch Make it an Apprenticeship – a new campaign urging employers to rethink entry routes, open their doors wider, and grow the next generation of talent through Level 2 and 3 apprenticeships.

Across the UK, one in eight young people are currently not in employment, education or training (NEET), while employers continue to report significant challenges in finding the skills they need. Entry level employment outcomes for young people and deliver real business value, with 77% of employers reporting improved productivity, and 83% recommending entry-level apprenticeships to others.

Make it an Apprenticeship turns this evidence into action. The campaign encourages employers to:
  • Make it an Apprenticeship: Reframe suitable entry-level vacancies as apprenticeship opportunities for young people.
  • Make it Level 2: Reassess skills requirements and remove unnecessary barriers so more young people can access meaningful roles.
  • Make more opportunities: Train additional apprentices to strengthen the talent pipeline across your organisation, sector, and supply chain.

These calls to action are grounded in what works. Through guidance, case studies, events, and a robust evidence base, Make it an Apprenticeship will amplify best practice and inspire employers of all sizes to play their part in rebuilding early career pathways.

But to shift the dial at scale, we need your voice too.

If you have a great apprenticeship story, we want to hear it. If your organisation is ready to inspire others, help us spread the word. And if you want to create more opportunities for young people, explore our resources to understand how apprenticeships can strengthen your workforce today, and for tomorrow.

On 10 February 2026, 1-2pm, we invite you to join us and partners at our launch webinar, and become part of the collective effort to turn more roles into real opportunities. Together, we can ensure Level 2 and 3 apprenticeships become a launchpad into good work for all young people. Sign up now.
