Hello prospective Youth Voice Ambassadors! My name is Talia and I’m the Senior Youth Inclusion Officer at Youth Futures Foundation. I’ve worked at Youth Futures Foundation for nearly three years now and in this time, my mission has been to create meaningful and inclusive spaces to ensure that young people like you can share your voice on your journeys into employment and beyond.

If you become a Youth Voice Ambassador for the Future Voices Group, you will work closely with me and the Youth Inclusion Team as we support you in advising and influencing Youth Futures and its partners, shaping the work they do and how they do it.

Why is our work important ?

The research and generation of evidence that Youth Futures Foundation do is crucial in breaking down barriers to employment for marginalised young people. Following the principle of “Nothing About Us Without Us”, it is vital that we have youth voice at the heart of our work to bring our evidence to life and make it accessible for a wide audience.

Why should you apply to become a Youth Voice Ambassador?

Here are the top five reasons why I think you should apply to become a Youth Voice Ambassador with the Future Voices Group (FVG):

1. No experience needed!

You don’t need any prior experience to join the FVG. We’ll provide training in lots of different areas such as policy, research, communications and more to ensure that you are equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed in your role as an ambassador. Whether you have a clear career path in mind or just want to explore different fields, this is a great opportunity to try something new and gain valuable experience for your CV.

2. Speak directly to decision-makers

You’ll have the chance to meet and engage with influential people who are making decisions that affect young people. Whether it’s politicians, policymakers, journalists, or employers, this role gives you a platform to amplify your voice—and the voices of your peers— at key events.

3. Work on creative projects

Last year, our FVG group got to blend policy and research with artistic practices by creating a Zine showcasing their voices and experiences on youth unemployment in creative ways. The zine also highlighted our research, helping to make our evidence accessible and digestible. We want to support you to do more of this in 2025!

4. Join a network of like-minded peers

Connect with other young people who share your passion for making a difference. Your role as an Ambassador will contribute to our work towards wider systemic change and ensure that your generation, and the generations after you have access to good and meaningful work options.

5. Get paid to share your views!

Being part of the FVG means your voice matters! At Youth Futures Foundation, we believe that achieving meaningful youth inclusion – and making real change to the employment landscape – starts with fairly paying young people that are engaged with us. That’s why you’ll be paid the London Living Wage for your time and contributions.
