Youth Futures Foundation is delighted to announce that Dr Fiona Aldridge has joined our Board as a Non-Executive Director.

Bringing more than 20 years’ experience of undertaking research to support the development of policy and practice across adult learning, skills and employment, we are thrilled to welcome her to our Board.

Dr Fiona Aldridge is Head of Insight and Intelligence in the Economic Delivery, Skills and Communities Directorate at West Midlands Combined Authority. Her role involves shaping devolved employment and skills policy and programmes in the West Midlands region. Prior to this she was Director of Policy and Research at Learning and Work Institute.

Fiona said: “The quality and focus of Youth Futures Foundation’s work to evidence what works in addressing the structural and systemic barriers to youth employment and progression is impressive.

“In the context of rising youth unemployment and economic inactivity, it is vital that now more than ever, we have clarity on how and where to invest to best tackle these challenges.

“I am delighted to be joining the Youth Futures Board at this critical time and look forward to supporting Youth Futures in generating robust evidence to underpin better public policy and services for young people.”

Chair of the Board, Seyi Obakin said: “My Board colleagues and I are delighted to welcome Fiona and to have her expertise on the board. We are excited that she will work with us to lead Youth Futures in delivering the impact and systemic change we seek to deliver for young people from marginalised backgrounds, to enable them to achieve their full potential.”
